Anila Usmani – Office Manager

Anila considers herself to be a Philly girl at heart, even though she has been living with her family in Delaware for the last 10 years.  She grew up and went to school in historic Philadelphia.  As fate would have it, Anila ended up meeting her husband Dr. Saqib Usmani while studying at Temple University.   While in school, she studied Biology and Education and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  Anila worked proudly as an educator for the School District of Philadelphia.  Through providing high-quality education to her students, Anila learned that her teaching experience would prepare, ensure, and empower her to become a lifelong learner as well as a productive member of society.  Taking a break from teaching, Anila made the decision to stay home and raise her two incredible sons, Zan and Adam.  She was excited to join the Delaware Smile Center team in 2008 when it opened. As Office Manager, Anila brings a fresh perspective to running our dental office. She has found the responsibility of Office Manager to be both challenging and rewarding at the same time. Anila is a true “people person” and makes it her goal to motivate others to do their best.  Her objective is to create an efficient but friendly dental office by making sure there is a smooth flow of operations inside the office so that patients get the healthy smile they deserve.

Jeanne Sipes – Treatment Coordinator

Jeanne has been with Delaware Smile Center since the opening of our practice.  She has worked in the dental field for over 20 years, and has experience with both the front office as well as the clinical aspects of dentistry.   Whether it’s answering phones, reviewing treatment plans with patients or providing our doctors with chair-side assistance, she really does do it all!  Jeanne lives in the Middletown area with her husband Steve and their three children Sierra, Nathan, and Emma.  She enjoys spending her free time with her family going to the beach, reading, attending all of the children’s school and sport functions and is very involved with her daughters in Girl Scouting.

Joanna Furmanski – Hygienist

Joanna started out in the dental field in 2005 as a Patient Coordinator. Her love for patients inspired her to pursue a career as a licensed Hygienist. A graduate of Delaware Tech’s Hygiene Program, Joanna has been with Delaware Smile Center since 2009.  As a Hygienist, Joanna’s philosophy is to treat each patient as an individual.   There is no doubt that Joanna is passionate about what she does.  Whether it’s enhancing her education through numerous continuing ed courses or volunteering with Give Kids A Smile, Joanna is constantly learning. In her spare time, Joanna enjoys traveling cooking, snowboarding and spending time with her family and friends.

Lauren Felix – Hygienist

Lauren graduated from Delaware Technical and Community College with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 2008. While in school Lauren excelled in her studies and was invited to join Sigma Phi Alpha, the national honor society for dental hygiene.  She was also named Most Outstanding Dental Hygiene Student by the Delaware State Dental Society. Lauren joined Delaware Smile Center in 2008.  Since then, Lauren has continued her education by earning her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland Dental School and now plans to start teaching part-time at Del Tech’s Hygiene Program.  Lauren enjoys spending her time off with her husband Christopher and their three dogs. A true animal lover, Lauren donates much of her spare time to volunteer for different animal rescue groups in Delaware and Maryland.
