Meet Dr. Shivang Patel
Dr. Shivang Patel offers compassionate, personalized general and family dentistry services for patients of all ages. He believes in an evidence-based approach to dentistry that centers the unique needs and goals of each individual. Cultivating relationships with patients is a core part of his care philosophy, and he loves that being a dentist allows him to make a positive impact on the health and wellness of his patients.
Dr. Patel is originally from Nairobi, Kenya, and his passion for dentistry was inspired by the lack of quality dental care available to him growing up. He moved to Middletown, DE in 2001, and he has grown to truly love the people and community. Dr. Patel completed his undergraduate coursework at the University of Delaware, where he graduated with honors. He then attended the prestigious University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. To further hone his skills, he also accepted a position at Christiana Care Hospital’s General Practice Residency.
One of Dr. Patel’s favorite aspects of the dental field is that it is always changing. He enjoys learning new techniques and mastering new dental technologies so that he can provide the best possible care for his patients. In particular, digital workflows have allowed dentists to provide more consistent and predictable results white also maximizing patient comfort. Delaware Smile Center’s intraoral scanners and chairside computers allow Dr. Patel to show patients what he is looking at so they can gain a better understanding of both their oral health and any potential treatment outcomes.
When it comes to working at Delaware Smile Center, Dr. Patel appreciates how fun and lively each day is at the office. The entire dental team works together to support each other and provide the absolute best possible care for patients. In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with my family and friends, playing volleyball, and going hiking, rock climbing, and snowboarding.
